Hair follicle testing detects substance use over a much longer window than urine testing — typically up to 90 days — making it one of the most reliable methods for pre-employment screening and compliance programs where a longer look-back matters.

Hair drug testing requires a sample size of about 100 strands of hair, cut close to the scalp. In most cases, the collection site is minimally visible.

1 1/2” minimal head hair length is required, and longer lengths are required for a 120-day test window. In the event that head hair is unavailable, body hair can be used. However, due to the different growth speed of body hair, any body hair collection will reflect a 12-month usage, and segmentation by month will not be possible.
